As am I also. I've noted the very same issue with mine Wil, so it may not be all that odd. The knob and outer shaft cover spin on the inner lever. I must hold the outer from turning to twist the knob off, but the cover will not pull off, though it rotates freely. It is on my list, but rather far down I note. I would be very interested to hear others findings.
